Whereas the first part of the argument seems to me to deal in the main with the historical development of theological systems in the Book of Mormon, this part of the argument looks more properly theological to me.
In spite of its age, and notwithstanding all of the subsequent research which this book itself has largely inspired, Lehi in the Desert should still be standard reading for anyone seriously interested in studying the Book of Mormon.

I truly understand this to mean that we should understand and value the importance of sowing and reaping as the Lord is sowing and reaping Jacob 5. Ime, that still is how it is the most powerful — as a book that speaks to people across time, not as a bunch of sound bites that prove doctrinal claims.
Classic Essays of Hugh W. Lehi found himself right at home in this innovative crowd of great dreamers and doers. This excerpting of intriguing and stunning details and insights could go on at great length, but Lehi in the Desert is easily available. These different systems led to historical dispute among historical Book of Mormon peoples, which Christ historically reconciled.

In many ways, Nibley spent the latter part of his professional life arguing the opposite. Although Nibley has a great sense of humor, and is extremely well-read in a number of languages, when he starts talking about proof for Mormon scripture he uses shoddy scholarship.
