THE LOST SAINT by Bree Despain | Kirkus Reviews

Quite frankly, hands down, the best book I’ve read in a long time, and I devour paranormal romance on a constant basis. Bree Despain’s The Dark Divine series is a must read for anyone who enjoys this genre. Though I was intrigued and captivated by book 1, book 2 had me so engrossed from beginning to end that I had to take time to review it at 4 in the morning!

The Lost Saint is a riveting, compelling and engrossing Paranormal Romance Thriller unlike anything I’ve read in the young adult realm; with character and plot development comparable to Anita Blake, Mercy Thompson and Werecat novels all favorites lsot mine.

The building desire and sensuality are comparable to Twilight’s Respain best of that sagabut its best features are the captivating, memorable and well-paced storyline packed with well-developed relate-able characters, delivering a complex plot that’s not hard to follow but keeps you guessing from the edge of your seat.

Equally compelling is the spectacular job of narration acting! I’m usually a little worn out when I finish the second book in a trilogy. Only complaint is that audio doesn’t have the third installment yet.

I have never emailed an author but I’m off to appeal for the third book. This is the excellent sequel to the Dark Divine. I thought the title of this book was a clever one as dspain could actually have refered to several characters.

As with the previous book, this novel took a little while for me to get into, particularly as I felt that the character of April adds nothing to the story and she irritates me considerably. However, this book turned out to be every bit as well written, exciting and impossible to put down as the first. What I really liked was that I never thd a clue what would happen. There were enough twists to keep any listener guessing and the suspense and danger is cranked up several notches in this book.

As for the characters, Grace is a flawed but excellent heroine, Daniel is every bit as attractive as I remember and there are new characters to wet the reader? The cliffhanger ending caught me by surprise, and will leave listeners clammering for the next instalment. Get it free with day trial.
